Welcome to Our Community! We are delighted that you have decided to join us for acupuncture! Here are a few things that we think it is helpful for you to know.
What can I expect on my first visit?
For your first visit, we ask that you come in 15 minutes before your scheduled time in order to read and sign some necessary forms, and to fill out a health history questionnaire. You will then meet with the acupuncturist who will give you a brief orientation to the clinic, discuss your primary concerns and goals for treatment with you, and give you an estimate of what kind of progress you can expect from acupuncture, and how long it may take. Your acupuncturist will then insert the needles (most people get between 10-20 needles at each visit, but that can vary depending on the person and the condition). Once the needles are in and we make sure you're comfortable, your job is just to relax and enjoy the space.

Before you come for your acupuncture visit:
- Bring a list of medications you are currently taking.
- Loose clothing is more convenient. We do distal points only - points that are located from the elbows to the fingers, the knees to the feet, and on the head and neck. We need access to these areas of the body.
- Have a light meal or snack before your treatment. Heavy meals can cause nausea. Empty stomachs can be the cause of dizziness after a treatment.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment is scheduled so you have time to fill out the new patient paperwork.
- Please turn your cell phone off or if needed please put it on silent. Remember, you will be in a room with others who will be relaxing.
- Please go easy on perfume & cologne there will be others that might be sensitive to smells. If you smoke please do not smoke within an hour of your treatment.
- You may feel a little light-headed. If so, please have a seat in the reception area. In a few minutes, you will feel relaxed and clear-headed.
- Do not drink alcohol. Drink plenty of water.
- Rest is preferable. Make the day as easy as possible.
